What is your favorite Cheer?
My favorite cheer to perform as an Alamo Heights Cheerleader is when we sing our Fight Song. I attended elementary & middle school at a small Classical Christian School in Corpus Christi, Texas. I loved it there! I knew that when it was time to go to High School, I wanted a larger experience. My family moved to Alamo Heights so that my sister, Chloe, and I could attend a great public school that had a strong cheer program. Singing this song means so much more than school spirit to me this song represents my strong desire to be apart of something larger than myself and make life long friends. I am sharing a video of my 2019-2020 team signing this song at a cheer competition. Can you tell by my performance that I love my Alamo Heights Mules?
Madyson Adame awarded 2019-2020 TGCA All-State Cheerleader!
Being awarded All-State Cheerleader is something that I will cherish for a long time. Coaches from around Texas choose who receive this award each year and it is based on your attitude and how you stand out over the course of a year.
I know some people might think that cheerleading is not a sport, but we put in long days at practice and it is hard on our bodies and injuries are common. This year, I suffered a concussion when I fell out of a roundoff-back handspring-full. I also pulled my chest muscles and this caused me to not be able to compete at the preliminary competition for Nationals. This was such a disappointment to me, but in cheerleading even if you are sidelined for an injury, you have to keep going, you much support your team.
Being a cheerleader is as much about cheering on your sports team as cheering on your cheer team. I am so honored to have received this award this year. It is my hope that no matter what comes my way in 2020-2021 that I will again be noticed for my attitude and cheer ability.
